FAQ's

 

How many lessons will I need?

The official syllabus is broken down into 16 subjects. This doesn’t mean 16 lessons, it could be less to be test ready. In a one hour lesson you could cover several subjects. Some subjects will be spread over several lessons to ensure the pupil can learn the skill and display confidence in its’ execution.

 

Will I pass first time?

No driving school can guarantee a first time pass. Driving is a skill YOU have to master, but your instructor has a proven track record of excellent pass rates.

 

Are all Examiners horrible?

NO. We have an excellent relationship with the DSA and the Examiners. This means that whan you arrive for your Practical Test in a JT School of Motoring car, you know the Examiner will be friendly.

 

Do I have to wait until I’m 18 now to start learning to drive?

NO.  You can learn to drive on the public highway at 17 provided you gave a valid Provisional Licence.

 

Do I provide my own car for the test?

Your Instructor will provide the use of a a car for the Practical Test, but with advice from your Instructor, you may use your own car?

 

Can my Instructor come with me on the Test?

YES

 

Will my Instructors car have dual controls.

YES. Dual controls are fitted as standard for your safety.

 

Why are waiting times for the Practical Test so long?

In those areas of the country where waiting times are long, it is mainly due to people retaking their test because they are not ready in the first place (this is obviously costly), so choose a professional driving school like JT.

 

Will my Driving Instructor be registered with the DSA?

YES. Your Instructor will be registered with the DSA, who conduct both the Theory and Practical Tests.

 

Can I take the Pass Plus course in my own car?

Yes, providing that you have adequate insurance.
